Yet there are an underwhelming number of bona fide hits, and evidently little marketing support for all but a handful of titles.įor nearly three decades the main source of revenue in the game industry has been packaged games sold at retail, and primarily for video game consoles. There are quality products, and ever more sophisticated types of games. Does that mean wherever I plug it in, the icon is always going to be there now?Įdited by lchageman, 25 January 2011 - 03:15 PM.The audience for digital games, whether online, social or mobile, has continued to grow. The instructions talk about clicking the Safely Remove Hardware icon if I want to disconnect the drive. Also I kind of wanted to connect the USB cable to one of the slots in the rear of the case. When I click on it, the Volume Tab is empty. Any advice? The drive doesn't appear as a lettered drive but if I go into Device Manager, it is there under disk drives as a USB device. I want to clone my existing HD in case of drive failure and I want to use the rest of the capacity to keep all my big programs and then delete a lot of stuff off the primary HD. The drive does have a backup button on it. Not sure whether to install this or configure the drive on my own. The enclosure (Azio E377-S31) came with software that includes power management (Dr Power AP), Encryption (HD Secure AP) and Backup (OneTouchBack Software). It was a snap to install: just open the case and pop in the drive and it's plug and play. Now on to the next phase: the WD 500 GB HD arrived along with the external enclosure. The good news: although I have a DVD drive that doesn't work, the new RAM and thorough cleaning have greatly improved speed/operation of the computer! Am I missing something or does this computer just not have it? Is there an easy fix or do I have to follow the manufacturer's installation advice and get a SATA/IDE converter to attach to the back of the DVD Writer? However, I couldn't find a SATA power connection. Now the problem: Yes, there is a SATA connection (actually 2)-for the data port. Removed my old CD Writer and started to install new DVD writer and. OK, So I finally got to most of this project (still need to get my backup drive) and here's the status update:Īs a temporary solution prior to starting work, I downloaded MozyHome (FREE-Yay!) and took advantage of the free 2 GB of online storage to make sure I didn't lose any of my really important stuff.įollowing my own advice, I cleaned out the cabinet and fans really good (and boy did it need it!)Ī little problem with the "easy" snapin of my new RAM, but eventually I coaxed them into the slots (after disconnecting the myriad array of ribbons/wires in the way!)
